I'm a horrible blogger.

Every time I come on here to blog I always end up reading -everybody- else's blogs and then after reading them I decide I have nothing interesting to say. Seems like everyone else is just that much more interesting than me! haha Although a lot has happened in the past month! I don't feel like sharing it all right now so I'll just share pieces.

My last day in Hawaii- early morning Goat Island trek.

I've been in Utah for about a month. I moved here. It's been great to be with my sisters, my niece, and my love :) to have my wardrobe tripled, and to have a lot of free time; but the allergies, the cold air, the DRY air, the hard boogers that have forced me to include a 5 minute snot blowing fest into my morning routine are NOT the business. If anyone knows me they know that I HATE change. But this year I have tried to embrace that word change. So here I am...changing.
See what I mean about the boogers? All day errday.

*random insert- remember when I said I was only gonna halfASH last semester and I'd settle for C's? Well I'd like to point out that I got a 4pointOH, AGAIN! yayy me!

Since being in Utah and conveniently moving home around graduation season I feel like I've been in full blown heffer mode. Seriously it feels like it's been one eating after the other. Graduations, blessings, birthdays, summer bbqs, family reunions! My pants hate me right now, but I'm not even mad about it.

No it's not you, no one can resist her charm!

Thoughts by the minute

EXACTLY what's on my mind:

  • 2:50am- Being debt free feels amazing. Having money to save feels equally amazing.
  • 2:50am- Just wondering how I could have possibly accumulated all the things I have in my room to date.
  • 2:52am- I've got someone who really cares for me. It feels wonderful beyond expression to have such a genuine character in my life for once.
  • 2:53am- I'm getting nostalgic and I'm not even gone yet.
  • 2:54am- I know we live in the age of technology, BUT I still don't think its ok to be asked out through email, text message, or any other lame sophisticated device you can hide behind. Face-to-face human contact is best and that will NEVER get old.
  • 2:57am- EMO. bleh.
  • 2:58am- I'm gonna miss it (and by "it" I mean everything) when I'm gone.
  • 2:59am- Tank tops are my favorite....so are hugs....well if I like you, but if I don't then don't touch me let alone hug me cuz then I might get mad...and being mad isn't on my list of favorites.
  • 3:00am- Ponzie made THE BOMB oysters tonight. oysters and smores for dinner? yespls!
  • 3:06am- When I meet my niece I wonder if I'll cry. She'll probably replace tank tops on my list of favorites.
  • 3:08am- If love was a color I wonder what it'd look like...probably like a hug...or a tank top.
  • 3:08am- I am tired. sooooooo tired.
  • 3:09am- Instead of sleep I'm gonna watch Glee.

over and out. :)

good morning beautiful!

The things you miss out on while you're sleeping..
So it's not the best picture, I should have gone outside and taken a better shot from the road instead of just my living room window, but hey it was 6:45 am, can you blame me for not? NO, you can't. lol. So here's the story...

I never get up before 8:00. Except for this one week my friend Ashleigh got me into running the Kahuku bike path with her, she is one motivated mama (literally she has a baby and one on the way). She goes running at 7 in the morning, so I woke up bright and early at 6:45 (which I seriously don't think I've woken up that early since high school days), I got up and walked towards my kitchen and was stopped in my tracks when I noticed the rising sun peeking in through my living room window at me. The sight was breath taking!! I ran to my room, grabbed my camera, and took a picture through the window. The picture doesn't exactly do justice to what it really looked like, but just know that it was gorgeous, bright, you could see sun rays, it was just beautiful. It was as if the sun was inviting me to start my day with her, giving me a personal "good morning!" and letting me know the day was sure to be a good one. Seeing natures beauty made me happy inside and it kind of set the tone for the rest of the day, I was grateful to live in a such beautiful world. Life's simple pleasures are the best. I was grateful to Ashleigh for getting me out of bed that early so that I could realize what kind of things I miss out on when I'm sleeping my life away.

In Japanese tsu 'harbor' + nami 'wave'

Tsunami warning.......AGAIN. It was only 13 months ago we had a serious tsunami warning from the earthquake that happened in Chile. This time it feels a bit more real though, cuz for real how many false alarms can we have before we run out of luck? Seriously I do believe all the natural disasters that seem to be happening more and more frequently around the world are a sure sign of the times. BUT I also believe there is much more work to be done as well as things that need to take place before the second coming. It is a scary thing, but I feel a sense of comfort in knowing the gospel. :)

So I live in Laie and my parents and sis live in Pearl City and I planned to sleep here, in Pearl City, last night and tonight and only brought enough clothes (and panties..YIKES) to last me the 2 days. My room in Laie was a sloppy mess when I left, naturally. K call me material, but is it horrible that my thoughts right now are focused on wondering if my wardrobe will drown and die tonight? Seriously though what will I wear? I considered the thought of driving back to Laie to rescue my clothes, but I'm not stupid so that's not happening. Slightly vain yes, but I'm human, guess I'll just have to wait it out. Sad as I will be if my clothes, shoes, books, and whatever else drown tonight there is one positive I can see coming out of it: IF I move back to Utah this summer then I'll have significantly less to leave with and packing will be easy peasy!

On another note I am so grateful to have my family here with me. My mom is a freakazoid when it comes to being prepared for things and before she went to "catch some Z's" (her exact words before going to bed tonight) she found a very useful tool in case the power goes out and we need light. She had my sister turn off the lights and made her way downstairs to show me what she had.....

She looks like an extraterrestrial!

My mom is hilarious. I'm 99 percent positive I get my off sense of humor from her, although my dad's pretty weird too so I guess I was doomed either way.

And so the tsunami countdown continues (yes I'm staying up because I really just wanna know if I'm going to have to buy a new wardrobe or not): T - 1hr and 22min.

CHOP.

So last saturday, on a whim, I walked into Trade Secret at Pearlridge mall and declared my need for a haircut. I've been talking about chopping my hair off for a whole year and never had the balls to do it till last week. This year just feels so much different than last and I felt it was time for a change. Soooo introducing the brand new me...

TA-DA!
Not gonna lie I totally miss my long hair and being able to just wrap it up on top my head in a messy bun. But having it this short makes me feel free and it's never tangled which is AWESOME. Overall I am happy with it cuz I can have long hair whenever I want I just gotta let it grow.

Well in other news since I got back from Vegas (literally the very next day) I've been sick. I had a sore throat and swollen tonsils and sore swollen glands sticking out of my neck towards the end of my sickness. I hate going to the doctors so I thought I would let my awesome immune system take over and kick sickness' butt, BUT my immune system failed me. I was deathly sick for 4 days, I felt better for 2 days, then the sickness came back for round 2 and after it had been over a week I finally caved and called the doctors. The results came in and sad to say, I had/have STREP THROAT. F me. Do you realize that this is the 3rd or 4th time in my life I've had strep? Isn't that a little unusual? My tonsils hate me obviously. Anywho the doctors wasn't all that bad because hey my blood pressure is normal and when they had me step on the scale I weighed in at a skinny healthy 113 pounds! haha. And now I'm on antibiotics feeling better and on my way back to health. I've missed so much school the past couple weeks just from being sick and not wanting to go and I feel like I've fallen behind, but I know I can get back on track if I just focus. Why is it so hard to just FOCUS. GAH. i can do it...i can do it.

Anyways here are the highlights of my week.
  • I ate so many bowls of ice cream I lost count.
  • A few times I added chunky peanut butter and sprinkles to my ice cream...and.it.was.DELICOUS.
  • My facebook inbox sang to me many a lovely songs. ;) (<---that winky face again! might be part of my secret..guess you'll never know haha)
  • I caught up on all my favorite tv shows via hulu.
  • I can honestly say the best thing I bought this week was a papaya.
  • My art teacher told me I don't "suck".
Not a very exciting list but hey it's my life and it's mine all mine and I got no complaints! Life is good. the end!
